Students participated in some experiential learning activities a) Activating my senses in the forest- what do I hear/see/taste? b) Learning the migratory birds’ voices - acoustic monitoring with bird sound identification. Students and their teachers were very excited to participate in such activities as they were given the opportunity to connect deeper with nature, learn useful information and discuss possible threats that migratory birds may face.

The European Bird Day was the first global event organized by BirdLife International for the first time on October 9-10, 1993 in more than 100 countries and takes place every year on the first weekend of October.

The main purpose of the event is to inform - raise public awareness of the need to protect migratory birds, as well as their breeding areas, their intermediate stations of their migratory routes and their breeding grounds.
